Basic principle

CaN International collects personal information to the extent necessary for smooth operations of the services provided. The information collected shall be properly handled and used only for the purposes stated below. In striving to protect personal information, we adhere to the Act on the Protection of Privacy Information and other privacy laws. A prior notice shall be given on shared usage or provision to a third party.

Purpose of use of personal information

  • (1) To respond to various requests or questions from our clients;
  • (2) To provide and develop consulting services;
  • (3) To manage contracts with our counterparts;
  • (4) To provide information through publications (newsletters and other information provided on websites, by email, and by other means) and to offer subscription service;
  • (5) To announce seminars;
  • (6) To select and hire personnel and to manage them after hiring; or
  • (7) To use contact information to respond to inquiries from non-clients.

Joint use

Personal information collected may be shared and used within the scope of the above purposes of use by the member firms in CaN International Global Network (hereafter referred to as "CaN International member firms") if that is required for conducting our business or for the provision or improvement of global services provided within CaN International Global Network. The following personal information will be shared and used in writing, in email, or in an electronic form by CaN International member firms:

  • (1) Name, age, address, telephone number, fax number, email address, employer name, department, and job title.
  • (2) Matters relating to inquiries or services to be provided.
  • (3) Matters contributing to the provision or improvement of global services provided within CaN International Global Network.

CaN International is responsible for managing the collected personal information.

Restriction on use and provision of the information collected

CaN International is not allowed to disclose the collected information to third parties, except when any of the following applies:

  • (1) When the client’s consent is given;
  • (2) When operations are outsourced to contractors for the purpose of conducting the services requested by clients;
  • (3) When it is necessary to disclose the information in accordance with laws and regulations;
  • (4) When unauthorized access, threats or other illegal activities are detected; or
  • (5) When other special conditions are applied.

Security control measures

CaN International takes the necessary measures to prevent leakage, loss or damage of the collected information and to properly control the collected information. The personal information collected is handled safely under strict control in accordance with our Personal Information Protection Basic Policy and Management Rules.

CaN International shall use the personal information with organizations outside CaN International Global Network to the extent necessary for the purposes of use such as the operations of seminars. When sharing the collected personal information, we will in advance notify the person who provided the personal information of the purpose of use, the scope of use, and the administrator for use.

CaN International shall entrust the handing of personal information as part of the business to a third-party entity engaged under a non-disclosure agreement. In such a case, we conduct a strict investigation towards the third party, and the necessary and appropriate supervision is carried out in order to maintain safe management of personal information.

Inquiry of personal information

If a client requests access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal information, CaN International responds to the request after the identity verification.
